Goals
The goal of this project was to develop a more personalized online shopping experience for my brand of quality handmade Catholic artwork. Using e-commerce platforms like Etsy are great for beginning a hobby business, but a custom website is necessary in the online marketplace to take an art business to the next level.
The Home Page
The home page gives a quick overview of all the important details of the shop. The banner at the top sets the branding with warm natural tones and organic shapes. It also displays snippets of some of the artwork. The page also includes a section giving personal background of the artist, a carousel showing different categories of her art, and reviews from previous customers on Etsy. Finally, I've included a short section explaining the linocut process and a video demonstration to educate visitors on the artist's niche artform of linocut, and showing why each handmade piece is valuable and unique.
The Gallery
The gallery uses a simple CSS grid to display the artwork in a clear professional manner. It's built to be responsive and collapse down from 3 to 1 column on smaller screens, ensuring that every visitor can clearly see the artwork. A "Buy" link under each image takes visitors to a Square payment page for secure payment processing.

Contact Form
The artist would also like to explore the possibility of wholesale orders in the future. I added a simple form to take a simple message and contact information, so that potential wholesale clients can reach out.

Conclusion
With just 3 basic pages, I was able to build a professional, scalable, online store front for a growing art business. Using simple layouts and cohesive branding gave me the groundwork to scale a marketplace hobby into a professional art business.
